Trumpet of Salvation
Jaffa,
Israel
“So
that if any one is in Christ, that one is a new creature; old
things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2
Corinthians 5:17
Jacob Damkani, a native Israeli
("sabra"), founded Trumpet of Salvation in 1984. By grace,
following the example of our Lord, the purpose of the mission is
to boldly proclaim the Gospel to the lost sheep of the house of
Israel and to make disciples. The ministry organises evangelism
training camps and distributes various books, Bibles and tracts
free of charge, including Jacob’s autobiography and testimony, “Why
Me?” By the faithful witness of Gentile believers and through
the various media of print, drama, song and dance, the nation of
Israel is confronted with the glorious revelation of “Yeshua
the Messiah” in His Jewish context.
A Word from Jacob
As the
eyes of servants look to their masters, so the eyes of the world
are looking at Jerusalem,
at the events taking place in Israel. But the almighty God also
has eyes and as He is gathering his Old Covenant people back to
their land that He promised to them, He is looking on all the men
and women whom He has reconciled to Himself by the New Covenant
and calling throughout the alleyways of creation, “Whom shall
I send and who will go for us?” (Isaiah 6:8). This most marvelous
call is heard by many sincere believers who are yearning to do
the will of God. If you are in such a place in your walk with Yeshua
(Jesus), perhaps this is the call you are waiting for, you know
very well that, “…the
eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to
show
Himself strong on behalf
of
those whose heart is loyal to Him” (2
Chronicles 16:9). Perhaps you are one more vessel of honor who
lives in obedience to the
faith, whom God is looking for in order to call Israel back to
Himself. As the fullness of the Gentiles come into the Kingdom,
the call of Israel to their God must be heard in its fullness, “Blessed
is He who comes in the name of the Lord” (Matthew
23:39). Although the eyes of the Lord are focused on his Old Covenant
people, His true expectation is from His New Covenant children
(oh, that we should have the faith of a little child). Most of
the New Covenant children have taken their inheritance (Yeshua)
and gone off to make a new religion that has nothing to do with
the truth or the demand and claim of Yeshua on their life.
The elder brother in our Lord’s story
of the prodigal son, are the Jews. The Jews believe that they
are in the house of God.
However they know nothing of the love, grace and compassion of
the heart of God for themselves or for the Gentile world. They
are in great need of discovering and understanding the true nature
and character of God, the Father. They are awaiting our return
and our message of everlasting life that is embodied in the lifestyle
that Yeshua and the apostles taught.
God, the Father, who saw the reaction of the elder brother to
the return of the younger brother, has seen how far removed from
the desires of His heart, both of his sons live.
Oh if only both sons, the Jew and the Gentile, Ishmael and Isaac,
Esau and Jacob, could be reconciled to the heart of God, the Father.
As you well know, in the Old Testament, God anointed chosen men
by the power of His Holy Spirit, for particular tasks to accomplish
and achieve His divine purposes. However, in the fullness of time
when the revelation of God came to its end by the shed blood of
Yeshua, the power of the Holy Spirit was made available as a gift
from the God of Israel to whosoever humbly believes and confesses
with his mouth that Yeshua died for his sin, was buried, rose from
the dead and will surely return.
God said
to the serpent, “He shall
bruise your head” (Genesis
3:15). He promised to Abraham, “...
in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (Genesis
12:3) and He promised “to
him shall be the obedience of the people” (Genesis 49:10).
God has given us His precise description of how salvation will
come in over 300 Old Testament verses. As He has promised, He came
and it is recorded in the New Testament that, “Salvation
is from the Jews” (John 4).
The Jewish people have been used by God
to bring to life the promised Messiah that has bruised satan’s
head. Through much pain, Peter, John, James and Paul, who were
all Jews, together with many
other Jewish people, gave birth to the New Testament church. As
the first coming of Yeshua was related to Israel, so will be His
second coming.
Paul,
who was the chosen instrument of God to take the Gospel of our
risen Lord to the Gentile world,
has written to us about
the mystery, “For I do not
desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery,
lest you should be wise
in your own
opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the
fullness of the Gentiles has come in.”
As God
gathers His people back to their promised land, the mystery of
that partial hardening which has
happened to Israel and the
prayer cry of Paul in Romans 11:11 for the Gentiles (the younger
brother) “to provoke them
to jealousy”,
is now unfolding and Paul’s prayer is being answered at this time of history
more then ever before.
Beloved of God, once again Israel is on the scene. The Lord is
dealing with Israel at this time in her history, not through the
Egyptians, Amalekites, Hittites, Ammonites, Moabites, Edomites,
Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks or Romans but now it is
through the Palestinians and rest of the Moslem world, and also
through many of the Western and European nations. In Old Testament
times, God used a single man to be the deliverer such as Moses,
Joshua, Gideon, Samson, Deborah, David, Ezra, Nehemiah and others,
but now, in New Testament times, the deliverer is none other than
Yeshua of Nazareth.
As God,
the Father has sent Yeshua to bring forth salvation and redemption
to the heart of men, Yeshua has
sent us to proclaim
His finished work on the cross, “to
the Jew first” (Romans
1:16).
If you are a true believer who is expecting
the return of our Lord, I am sure you are paying close attention
to the news from
our region. This region needs another type of news other than suicide
bombers, air strikes, shootings and killings. This region desperately
needs to hear the Good News of our Lord Yeshua. There is something
which is much more important than the world’s news; it is
the news that has to do with the Jewish and Arab people, with Ishmael
and Isaac, Esau and Jacob. It encompasses the divine things that
God desires to accomplish and achieve at this time of Israel’s
history with God’s New Covenant children, perhaps with you!
I, Jacob Damkani, founder and director
of Trumpet of Salvation to Israel, so much want to encourage
each and every believer in
God’s creation to prayerfully consider taking part in the
work of God in presenting the Gospel of our redeemer and deliverer,
Yeshua Christ, to both Jew and Arab alike.
Once again Israel is standing before her
enemy, satan himself and he knows that if Israel can be annihilated,
the plan of God’s
salvation will come to nothing. Shall we then stand in silence
and see her turn to a false religion or become secular, turning ‘every
which way’, but to the Saviour. Or shall we bring them face
to face with their own Messiah by going out to them two by two
and presenting to them true Biblical Judaism.
Trumpet of Salvation to Israel is a ministry
which has set the tone for evangelism in the land of Israel and
we are now, by God’s
grace, climbing to new heights in the calling of our Lord on our
lives. If God has laid a burden on your heart for the salvation
of Israel, we so much want to provide you with the platform to
bring to fulfilment your heart’s desire. We are here to serve
you, to teach, equip, encourage, challenge and mobilize you, in
order that Israel will call on their own God and Messiah who is
hidden from them through their ignorance of the truth.
